Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi Overview
The history of Jamia Hamdard began in 1906, when Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, a well-known specialist who established a small Unani clinic. This educational institution focuses on promoting Islam’s and Islamic culture’s contributions to Indian civilisation, as well as the creation of Unani remedies for illness treatment. The Hamdard National Foundation was established to support charitable initiatives in the fields of education, medical help, and knowledge progress, all in accordance with the principles of Islam’s authentic teachings.
The college was established in 1972. The goal was to offer education and training in all aspects of pharmacy. On May 10, 1989, the Ministry of Human Resource Development granted Jamia Hamdard the designation of Deemed to be University, allowing Hakeem Abdul Hameed to realise his ambition.
