In India, the significance of technical education has been steadily growing since the post-Independence era, fueled by advancements in Science & Technology and the proliferation of information. The advent of computers has revolutionized traditional systems, ushering in new opportunities for space communication and exploration. Against this backdrop, technical education assumes an increasingly pivotal role in nurturing skilled technocrats and business leaders across diverse sectors.
In pursuit of this goal, the Government of Delhi laid the foundation for a modest institute in 1965, originally named the "Institute of Commercial Practice." Its primary objective was to provide vocational training in office management and secretarial practice. By 1972, the institute underwent a transformation, evolving into the "Bhai Parmanand Institute of Business Studies" (BPIBS), in honor of a Sikh martyr from Punjab. In 1986, BPIBS relocated to a more expansive campus in Shakarpur, Delhi-92.
